Small Moves, Single Items & Labour-Only Help
How to use this tool, example and FAQs
Buying furniture, moving a piano, loading a rental truck or rearranging a room? Select the actual task before comparing quotes. A small job can still have a minimum booking.
Directory: 45 company and branch listings across 44 Ontario communities. Branches of the same brand are identified by name. Sources checked October 27, 2026. Listings are not a ranking or endorsement.

Before you book
- Give item dimensions, weight if known, stairs and tight turns. A piano or safe needs an explicit capability confirmation.
- Ask when billable time starts, minimum hours, travel charges, packing costs and cancellation terms.
- For a Marketplace pickup, confirm the seller’s time window, item readiness, parking and payment arrangements separately.
City matching uses published service areas, not GPS distance or real-time availability. Maps opens an external service. Contact details can change; the linked official source is your confirmation point.

How to plan a small move without missing the important charges
A single-item delivery can involve the same access and scheduling work as a larger move. Use this page to identify the task and potential providers; the item count alone does not determine the minimum charge.
Step-by-step instructions
- Choose the city and the actual job. Use single item for a delivery, labour for loading a vehicle you arrange, and in-home furniture moving when the item stays at your property.
- Record the item’s dimensions, approximate weight if known, whether it comes apart, and any fragile surfaces. Add stairs and elevator arrangements for both ends.
- Find matching companies and check their official service information. For a piano, safe or unusually heavy piece, request an explicit capability assessment.
- Ask for the minimum booking, travel charge, equipment, crew, pickup window and what happens if access fails. Save the details and prepare a written request before agreeing to the job.
Example: collecting a sofa from a Marketplace seller
Confirm that the seller will release the sofa at the agreed time, that it is ready to lift, and who handles any disassembly. Send the mover the sofa dimensions and access details at both addresses. A two-person lift with two flights of stairs may cost more than a simple curbside pickup, even though both involve one item.
Frequently asked questions
Is one item always cheaper than a small apartment move?
Not necessarily. Minimum hours, travel, crew, specialist handling and access can determine the price. Ask for the complete charge for your exact job.
Can a mover handle the purchase payment for me?
Do not assume purchase payment is included. Arrange the seller’s payment and release requirements separately, and confirm any collection responsibilities with the mover in writing.
What if the furniture does not fit through the doorway?
Measure the item and access route before booking. Tell the provider about tight turns and removable parts. Ask how failed access, extra work or a return trip would be charged.
Do the results show who is available today?
No. Matches use published services and areas. Call the provider to confirm the date, dispatch location, equipment and minimum booking.
