Details that help a mover quote accurately

Include cupboards, sheds and storage areas, not just the main rooms. Group similar boxes together and measure large furniture with the units shown. Mark heavy or fragile pieces so you can discuss the right crew and handling before booking.

The list does not estimate weight, truck size or whether furniture will fit through a doorway. Confirm those points with the mover using dimensions and access photos.

Saving stores the list in this browser on this device. It is not sent to moving companies. Use the request builder to turn it into a message you can review and copy. Your browser’s Print / Save as PDF option can keep a separate copy.

YOUR NEXT STEP

Use this inventory in your quote request

Select “Save inventory on this device” above. Open the request builder in this browser and select “Use saved inventory”.

How to prepare a room-by-room moving inventory

Use one row for an item or a group of similar boxes. The goal is a clear description that every company can quote against, rather than an estimated weight or truck-size calculation.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Choose the room or storage area, enter a recognizable item name and set the quantity. Separate items when their handling needs differ.
  2. For large furniture, add dimensions with units and note whether it is assembled. Use the handling notes for details such as a glass top, detachable legs or limited lifting access.
  3. Mark heavy or bulky and fragile items where relevant, then select Add item to inventory. Review the table and remove and re-enter a row if its details need correction.
  4. Select Save inventory on this device. Open the Quote Request Builder in the same browser and choose Use saved inventory; review the imported text before sending your request.

Example: boxes and a fragile table

Enter Kitchen boxes with quantity 10 as one row, then enter Glass dining table with quantity 1 as another. Add the table dimensions and handling note separately. That creates two entries representing 11 items; it does not establish their weight or whether the table fits through the stairs.

Frequently asked questions

Should every box have its own row?

Group similar boxes from the same area when that remains clear. Separate unusually heavy, fragile or oversized boxes so their handling needs are visible.

Can the inventory calculate weight, volume or the truck I need?

No. It records your quantities and notes. Ask the mover to assess vehicle size, crew and handling from the inventory, dimensions and access information.

Does saving the inventory send it to a mover?

No. Saving keeps a copy in this browser. Import it into your request, review the result and choose how and with whom to share it.

How do I keep a copy outside this browser?

Copy the displayed inventory text or use your browser’s Print / Save as PDF option. A saved browser list alone is not a separate backup.
