Moving Reviews publishes research-based moving company guides and practical information for readers comparing a move. This page explains how to interpret our coverage and what we check when revising an article.
What a company guide is based on
We distinguish information published by a company, public regulatory records, and customer accounts. A company’s own website can explain its services and booking terms, but does not establish how well it performs. Customer accounts can provide context, but a single account is not a representative survey.
Our checks for updated reviews
- Identity: identify the business and distinguish a carrier from a broker.
- Services: link to official service information and identify details that require a personalized quote.
- Terms: examine available payment, cancellation, and protection information without promising an outcome for an individual booking.
- Customer feedback: attribute any reported rating to its platform, date, and review count. We do not treat forum comments as a star-rating survey.
- Decision support: provide questions, comparison tables, and checks readers can use before booking.
Ratings, rankings, and firsthand experience
Unless an article explicitly documents a firsthand test, it is a research-based guide. A title or listing position does not mean we personally hired the company or audited every move it performed. We do not assign an editorial star rating without a documented assessment method. References to “best” or “top” in older articles should not be read as a verified ranking.
Dates and changing information
Prices, registration records, service areas, review counts, and contract terms change. An article’s stated verification date applies to the checks described in that article. A later website edit does not mean every company detail has been reverified.
Current coverage and its limits
Our city moving guides cover locations across Canada’s ten provinces. The searchable company directory currently covers Ontario, while individual company guides may cover Canadian or U.S. services; check the country and scope in each guide. Verification dates apply to the checks described in the individual article, rather than to every page on the site. Our coverage is not an exhaustive survey, a firsthand test or a live check of availability. Before booking, confirm the original company documents, current service coverage and relevant official records.
Commercial relationships and corrections
Any paid placement, referral relationship, or other commercial connection relevant to a recommendation should be disclosed alongside that recommendation. A link to a company is not itself a guarantee of its service.
If you find an incorrect fact, an outdated term, or a source that no longer supports a statement, contact us with the page URL, the detail at issue, and a supporting source. We can then assess the correction and update the affected article.
Questions about checking a company guide
Use a guide to identify what to verify for your move, then compare the current original documents with the exact service and branch you plan to book.
Frequently asked questions
How do I use a source link effectively?
Check the business or branch name, the service described and the date or terms on the original page. A national service page may not establish what a particular branch will provide at your two addresses.
What evidence helps with a correction request?
Identify the article URL and statement, then provide the relevant official page or document and explain the mismatch. For a changed phone number or service area, name the branch. A precise source is more useful than a general claim that an article is wrong.
Does an article edit mean every company detail was checked again?
No. Read the verification statement for the scope of the research. A formatting change or a new planning link can change the page’s modification date without updating every business fact.
